Full Form Of DRDO
DRDO's full form is Defense Research and Development Organization. This institute does all the research related to the defense of India. And plays an important role in keeping the country's defense power strong.
Establishment and headquarters of DRDO: -
It was established in 1958 to strengthen India's military power. DRDO works under the Ministry of Defense of India. DRDO's headquartered is in Delhi. Its moto strength's origin is in science.
Functions of DRDO: -
DRDO is a continuously engaged institution for the design and development of India's defense systems. And it undertakes the creation of world class weapon systems and equipment according to the needs of India's water, land and air force.
DRDO also operates in many areas of military technology. Such as aeronautics, weapons, combat vehicles, electronics, equipment engineering systems, missiles, materials, naval systems, advanced computing, simulation and life sciences.
Objectives of DRDO: -
The objective of DRDO is to move India forward on the basis of science and engineering at the global level. And strengthening the country's defense services.
DRDO goals: -
1 To produce modern sensors, weapon systems and equipment for the country's defense services.
2 Providing technological solutions to defense services.
3 Creating committed quality manpower, as well as a strong engineering base and infrastructure.
DRDO has more than 50 laboratories across the country.
India's leading defense research institute DRDO has established eight advanced technology centers to conduct research on future military applications.
The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has created eight advanced technology centers across India to carry out research activities in identified future / new technology areas.
The DRDO set in motion a long-awaited process to usher in mega reforms as well as to create an infrastructure capable of developing future military weapons.
Currently, DRDO has more than 50 laboratories across the country, engaged in developing defense technologies covering subjects such as aeronautics, armaments, combat vehicles, engineering systems, missiles, advanced computing and naval systems.
DRDO has contributed significantly over the last six decades in developing various critical weapons and military platforms for the three services.
However, the government is of the view that DRDO should further increase its efficiency in sync with the government's focus on making India self-sufficient in defense manufacturing.
Currently, the government has to pay about Rs 5,000 crore annually to pay salaries of OFB employees. In addition, it gives OFBs about Rs 3,000 crore as operating cost to the authorities.

इसकी स्थापना 1958 में भारत की सैन्य शक्ति को मजबूत बनाने के लिए की गई। DRDO भारत रक्षा मंत्रालय के अंतर्गत काम करती है। DRDO रक्षा का मुख्यालय दिल्ली में है। इसका मोटो ( strength's origin is in science) शक्ति का आधार विज्ञान ही है।
DRDO के कार्य:-
DRDO भारत की रक्षा प्रणालियों के डिज़ाइन और डेवलपमेंट के लिए लगातार जुटे रहने वाला संगठन है। और यह भारत के जल, थल और वायु सेना के जरूरतों के अनुसार विश्व स्तर के हथियार प्रणाली और उपकरण बनाने का कार्य करता है।
DRDO सैन्य प्रौद्योगिकी के बहुत से क्षेत्रों में भी कार्य करती है। जैसे वैमानिकी, अस्त्र - शस्त्र, लड़ाकू वाहन, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स, उपकरण अभियांत्रिकी प्रणाली, मिसाइलों, सामग्री, नवल प्रणाली, उन्नत कंप्यूटिंग, सिमुलेशन तथा जिंदगी विज्ञान।
DRDO के उद्देश्य:-
DRDO का उद्देश्य भारत को वैश्विक स्तर की विज्ञान और अभियांत्रिकी का आधार देकर आगे बढ़ना है। और देश की रक्षा सेवाओं को मजबूत बनाना है।
DRDO के लक्ष्य :-
1 देश के रक्षा सेवाओं के लिए आधुनिक सेंसर्स, हथियार प्रणाली और उपकरण का उत्पादन करना।
2 रक्षा सेवाओं को प्रौद्योगिकीय समाधान उपलब्ध कराना।
3 प्रतिबद्ध गुणवत्ता के श्रमशक्ति तैयार करना, साथ ही मजबूत अभियांत्रिकी आधार और आधारिक संरचना तैयार करना।
DRDO की देश भर में 50 से अधिक प्रयोगशालाएँ हैं।
भारत के प्रमुख रक्षा अनुसंधान संस्थान DRDO ने भविष्य के सैन्य अनुप्रयोगों पर अनुसंधान करने के लिए आठ उन्नत प्रौद्योगिकी केंद्र स्थापित किए हैं।
रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) ने पहचान किए हुए भविष्य / नई प्रौद्योगिकी क्षेत्रों में अनुसंधान गतिविधियों को करने के लिए पूरे भारत में आठ उन्नत प्रौद्योगिकी केंद्र बनाए हैं।
DRDO ने मेगा सुधारों में प्रवेश करने के साथ-साथ भविष्य के सैन्य हथियारों को विकसित करने के लिए सक्षम बुनियादी ढाँचा बनाने के लिए एक लंबे समय से प्रतीक्षित प्रक्रिया को गति में सेट किया था।
वर्तमान में, डीआरडीओ के पास देश भर में 50 से अधिक प्रयोगशालाएं हैं, जो कि वैमानिकी, आयुध, लड़ाकू वाहन, इंजीनियरिंग सिस्टम, मिसाइल, उन्नत कंप्यूटिंग और नौसेना प्रणाली जैसे विषयों को कवर करने वाली रक्षा तकनीकों को विकसित करने में लगी हुई हैं।
डीआरडीओ ने पिछले छह दशकों में तीनों सेवाओं के लिए विभिन्न महत्वपूर्ण हथियारों और सैन्य प्लेटफार्मों को विकसित करने में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है
हालांकि, सरकार का यह विचार है कि डीआरडीओ को रक्षा विनिर्माण में भारत को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने पर सरकार के फोकस के साथ सिंक में अपनी दक्षता को और बढ़ाना चाहिए।
वर्तमान में, सरकार को ओएफबी कर्मचारियों के वेतन का भुगतान करने के लिए सालाना लगभग 5,000 करोड़ रुपये का भुगतान करना पड़ता है। इसके अलावा, यह अधिकारियों को परिचालन लागत के रूप में ओएफबी को लगभग 3,000 करोड़ रुपये देता है।
